Answer:
1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose one of the following menu paths:
a. If you want to carry out a mass change to equipment, choose Logistics → Plant Maintenance → Management of Technical Objects → Equipment → List Editing → Change, or
b. If you want to carry out a mass change to functional locations, choose Logistics → Plant Maintenance → Management of Technical Objects → Functional Location → List Editing → Change.
The screen for selecting equipment or functional locations appears.
2. Specify the pieces of equipment or functional locations that you want to change by entering filter criteria.
A list of all the objects that meet your criteria appears.
If no objects meet your criteria, an error message appears.
3. Choose Goto → Carry Out a Mass Change.
The Mass Maintenance dialog box appears.
4. Select the fields that you want to change from the General Data, Organization, and Location Data tabs, and enter the new value for each field.
Note
The mass changes function is not available for all fields for reasons of dependency.
5. Carry out the mass changes by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Execute, or by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Execute in the Background.
A message log of the action appears. It contains detailed information on the extent to which the changes have been implemented for each object.
If you execute mass changes in the background, you can access the message log by choosing transaction SLG1 (Analyze application log). Enter PM_MASS_TECH_OBJECTS as the object.

To test the changes before you execute them, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text with the quick info text Test Changes. A log of all the messages that you would receive if you carried out the mass changes appears.
