Heya!

CH₃CCl₃ + O₂ ---> CO₂ + H₂O + Cl₂

I will solve this question by Algebraic method!

What you need to do is to assume stoichiometry coefficient of each reactant and product

aCH₃CCl₃ + bO₂ ---> cCO₂ + dH₂O + eCl₂

Here,
a,b,c,d and e are assumed stoichiometry coefficient.

For C -
LHS = RHS
2a = c.........(1)

For H -
LHS = RHS
3a = 2d.........(2)

For Cl -
LHS = RHS
3a = 2e.........(3)

For O -
LHS = RHS
2b = 2c + d..........(4)

Now let's assume that a = 1

then c = 2
3/2 = d

3/2 = e

2b = 2(2) + 3/2
2b = 4 + 3/2
2b = 11/2
b = 11/4

CH₃CCl₃ + 11/4O₂ ---> 2CO₂ + 3/2H₂O + 3/2Cl₂

Let's make it a bit more easy to be understood properly and multiply all the stoichiometry coefficient with 4.

4CH₃CCl₃ + 11O₂ ---> 8 CO₂ + 6H₂O + 6Cl₂
