The Balanced equation is:

2Cu_{2}S+3O_{2} = 2Cu_{2}O +2SO_{2}

  • If 3 moles of oxygen is consumed, then 2 moles of SO2 is liberated.
  • one mole of a gas consists of Avagadro number of molecules or atoms.
  • Avagadro number = 6.022*10^{23}.
  • Therefore the number of SO2 molecules liberated are 12.044*10^{23} molecules.
