The representation of a chemical reaction in the form of substances is known as a chemical equation. The equation in which the number of atoms of all the molecules is equal on both sides of the equation is known as a balanced chemical equation.

In order to form copper metal and aluminium chloride, aluminium interacts with copper chloride. It is because aluminium is more reactive than copper, as per the reactivity of metals, it displaces copper from a copper chloride solution. The chemical equation can be expressed as

Al(s) + CuCl2(aq) → AlCl3(aq) + Cu(s)

The above chemical equation can be balanced as follows.
