Equation is wrong??

Explanation:

Correct equation is

2Al + 6HCl ----->2AlCl3 + 3H2

When aluminum is placed in the hydrochloric acid it may initially appears not to react because a layer of aluminum oxide forms on the surface of the aluminum, act as a protective layer.

As the acid has removed the oxide layer from the aluminum, reaction takes place and produces a lot of hydrogen gas.

The hydrochloric acid turns a grey colour as aluminum chloride is formed.
