Balancing a chemical

equation means making the number

of atoms equal on

both sides of the equation.

There are many steps involved in

balancing of a chemical equation

Well Here is The Answer:-

(1) FeS + HCl ➡ FeCl2 + H2S

Balanced :-

FeS + 2HCl ➡ FeCl2 + H2S

  • in the above equation, on the left hand side, there were 1 Cl atoms and 1 H atoms while as on the right hand side there were 2 atoms of both of them now i put 2 in front of HCl and made 2 of each of them and equal on both sides. thus it is balanced.

(2) Na2O + H2O ➡ NaOH

Balanced :-

Na2O + H2O ➡ 2NaOH

  • in the above equation on the left side there were 2 sodium , 2 hydrogen and 2 oxygen atoms while on the right side there were one of each of them. thus putting 2 in front of the right side made it twice sodium , oxygen and hydrogen. HENCE THE EQUATION IS BALANCED.

(3) BaCl2 + H2SO4 ➡ BaSO4 + HCl

balanced :-

2BaCl2 + 2H2SO4 ➡ 2BaSO4 + 4HCl

  • In the above equation on the left side there were 1 Ba atom, 2 Cl atoms , 2 hydrogen atoms and 4 SO atoms. i put 4 in front of HCl on the right side to make 4 H and 4Cl atoms now i had to make 4 Cl atoms on the left where 2 of them were already present thus i put 2 in front of BaCl2 that made 4Cl and 2Ba atoms. Now i had to make 2Ba atoms on the right side so i put 2 in front of BaSO4 that made 8 SO4 . Lastly i had to make 8 SO4 atoms on the left side so i put 2 infront of H2SO4 on the left side that made 4H atoms and 8 SO4 atoms .In this way the atoms of all the elements became equal on both the sides . HENCE THE EQUATION IS BALANCED.
