  • No of Oxygen atoms on RHS = 1

        No of Oxygen atoms on LHS = 2

        Multiply H₂O with 2

        SO₂ + H₂S ----> S + 2 H₂O

  • No of Hydrogen atoms on RHS = 4

        No of Hydrogen atoms on LHS =  2

        Multiply H₂S with 2

        SO₂ + 2 H₂S ----> S +2 H₂O

  • No of Sulphur atoms on RHS = 1

        No of Sulphur atoms on LHS = 3

        Multiply S with 3

        SO₂ + 2 H₂S ----> 3 S +2 H₂O

Final equation:

SO₂ + 2 H₂S ----> 3 S +2 H₂O
