Balancing the following equation :

1) \sf{Mg + O_2 \rightarrow MgO}

\implies\sf{2Mg + O_2 \rightarrow 2MgO}

2) \sf{Fe + HCl \rightarrow FeCl_2 + H_2}

\implies\sf{Fe + 2HCl \rightarrow FeCl_2 + H_2}

3) \sf{Zn+ H_2SO_4 \rightarrow ZnSO_4 + H_2}

\implies\sf{Zn+H_2SO_4 \rightarrow ZnSO_4 + H_2} (Already Balanced)

4) \sf{N_2 + H_2 \rightarrow NH_3}

\implies\sf{N_2 + 3H_2 \rightarrow 2NH_3} (Also called Haber's process)

5) \sf{NaCl + AgNO_3 \rightarrow AgCl + NaNO_3}

\implies\sf{NaCl + AgNO_3 \rightarrow AgCl + NaNO_3} (already balanced)

Chemical equation : A equation used to depict the chemical reaction in which certain elements and compounds undergo is called a chemical equation .

Balanced Chemical equation : A chemical equation in which number of atoms of all elements remain equal on both sides is called a balanced chemical equation .

We can change the simple chemical equations by hit and trial method . In this method , we choose numbers by hit and trial that fit our chemical equation well . In this method, it should be mind that Oxygen and Hydrogen should always be balanced at last , for convenience .

An ionic equation can be balanced by ion - exchange method by knowing the compounds undergone redox reaction.
