An equation is said to be balanced when the number of atoms of reactants is equal as the number of atoms of products.
example:
2Mg + O2 → 2MgO
reactants: 2 atoms of mg
2 atoms of oxygen
Products: 2 atoms of mg
2 atoms of oxygen
example:
