Balance diet is necessary for maintaining healthy body because -

• To maintain a healthy body we have to consume a certain amount of different types of nutrients (protein,vitamin,carbohydrate etc.) through our daily meals.

• Now,if we consume greater or lesser than the certain amount of the necessary nutrients,then we will be not able to maintain a healthy body.

• And,this perfect consumption of different types of nutrients is only possible through a balanced diet.

That's why we need a balanced diet for maintaining our health.

A balanced diet supplies the nutrients your body needs to work effectively. Without balanced nutrition, your body is more prone to disease, infection, fatigue, and low performance. Children who don't get enough healthy foods may face growth and developmental problems, poor academic performance, and frequent infections.

Food groups in your diet

  • Food groups in your dieteat at least 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables every day (see 5 A Day)
  • base meals on higher fibre starchy foods like potatoes, bread, rice or pasta
  • have some dairy or dairy alternatives (such as soya drinks)
  • eat some beans, pulses, fish, eggs, meat and other protein.
