 \bold{Sodium \: hydroxide }

▶Sodium is a highly reactive metal with valency +1 which means it need to. lose its one electron to be stable.

▶Hydroxide is the negative radical with valency -1.

When both reacts sodium loses its one electron and forms a highly basic compound which is Sodium hydroxide.

 \bold{Zinc \: oxide }

▶Zinc is a metal with valency +2 which means it need to loses its two electrons to be stable like nearest noble gas argon.

▶Oxygen has valency -2 .So it need to gain one electron to be stable like nearest noble gas neon.

When both reacts zinc loses its both electron to oxygen and forms a metallic oxide that is zinc oxide which is also basic in nature.

◼WHEN SODIUM HYDROXIDE REACTS WITH ZINC OXIDE.

When sodium hydroxide reacts zinc oxide it forms a double salt which is sodium zincate.

 \boxed{ZnO + 2NaOH\xrightarrow{500-600 degree }Na_2ZnO_2 + H2O }
