=> When you heat nitrates of Potassium and sodium, you get respective nitrites and oxygen gas.

=> When you heat nitrates of Silver and Mercury, you get respective metals, nitrogen dioxide gas, and oxygen gas.

=> When you heat nitrates of divalent metals like copper, zinc, calcium, etc, you get respective oxides, nitrogen dioxide gas and oxygen gas.


Reaction:

2Cu(NO₃)₂ -----> 2CuO + 4NO₂ + O₂
