Answer:

Explanation:

Balancing chemical equations largely depends on the law of conservation of mass and atoms. The law of conservancy of mass states that Irrespective of the processes acting within a closed system of substance, its mass remains constant. Matter’s form can change but it can never be created nor can it be destroyed. This means that the mass of the reactant and the product must be made equal by equating the number of atoms on both sides of the equation hence satisfying the law of conservancy of atoms.

To balance a chemical equation,

1.    You first need to identify the reactants as well as the products and have their chemical formulae written in an equation form. The equation should have the product on the left and the reactants on the right.

2.    Count the number of atoms on both sides independently.

3.    Makes sure that the number of molecules on each side are balanced. If not, change the number of molecules by changing the coefficients of the individual molecules until you achieve a balanced number of atoms of each element on both the reactant and product’s side.

4.    Finally, add any extra details such as symbols of the equation phases.
