SOLUTION

Distance travel is time (t) is:

=) s= ut +1/2at^2

Initial velocity u=0

=) s= 1/2at^2

Distance travelled in 1 second

=) s1= 1/2×9.8×1^2 = 4.9m

similarly distance travelled in 2,3,4 seconds are

=) s2= 19.6m

=) s3= 44.1m

=) s4= 78.4m

Now distance travelled in (1st), (2nd),(3rd) &(4th) second are:

=) D1= s1= 4.9m

=) D2= s2-s1= 19.6-4.9= 17.7m

=)D3= s3-s2= 44.1- 19.6= 24.5m

=)D4= s4-s3= 78.4- 44.1=34.3m

Ratio D1:D2:D3:D4

=) 1:3:5:7
