because ballots decide the fate of the people who are voting on it, for instance deciding to vote for or against the banning of the death sentence or say jim crow . A bullet just causes the fate of whoever it hits, if it hits. Sure that bullet can hit an important person but that rarely happens to a large effect. we’ve had presidents shot and went on, but when it’s voted on it’s the law for everyone day in and out. No running away or shield, once it’s decided it can only be undone by another ballot for however long that wait is.
