Banana crops are cultivated by farmers using vegetative propogation.

Explanation:

Vegetative propagation is a mode of asexual repoduction in which only one parent is involved. Banana crop is cultivated using vegetative propogation and the part used is rhizome of banana. The rhizome has the ability to produce new plant of banana.

Banana is said as highly genetically unstable so the parent plant chosen for propogation should be healthy. After the selection of healthy parent plant, rhizomes are removed from the soil and stored in dry, cool places for approximately 2 months. During this period of 2 month the bottom of rhizomes falls and left with heart bud. These daughter plants are known as suc-kers. Suc-kers should be 3-4 months for planting. Small suc-kers bears bigger size fruits while large size suc-kers bears small size fruits.
