Answer:

LOSS : 75rs

Step-by-step explanation:

As you can see 300+45+80=425rs and you can see that 425rs is less than 500rs.

Now to get to know the amount of loss we have to subtract 500-425 (Loss = cost price -selling price) =75 rs

Given :

  • Cost Price = Rs. 300
  • Spent on repairs = Rs. 85
  • Spent on repainting = Rs. 40

To find :

  • gain or loss
  • profit or loss percent

Solution :

Cost Price = Rs. 300 + 85 + 40

                 = Rs. 300 + 125

                 = Rs. 425

Selling Price = Rs. 500

Since, S.P > C.P [Here, it is Profit]

Profit = S.P - C.P

         = 500 - 425

         = 75

Profit Percent = \tt \dfrac{profit}{C.P} \times 100

                       = \tt \dfrac{75}{425} \times 100

                       = \tt \dfrac{7500}{425}

                       \tt = 17.64 \%

Therefore, Profit Percent is 17.64%.
