BC = 12cm

To find:

Area of isoceles triangle ABC

Solution:

s of triangle ABC = a+b+c/2

= 10 + 10 + 12/2

= 32/2

= 16cm

Now, using heron's formula,

Area of triangle ABC = √s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

= √16(16-10)(16-10)(16-12)

= √16(6)(6)(4)

= √ 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 2 x 3 x 2 x 2 x 2

= 48cm²
