1.) M_2O , where M is element of first group e.g., Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs. elements of first group are electropositive (metal), valency of these elements = 1 while valency of oxygen is 2 and electronegative (non-metal).

for example, Na_2O,K_2O.

2)MX_3, where M is element of group 13th, and X is element of halogen family. we know, group 13th elements are trivalent while halogens are monovalent.

for example, AlCl_3,BF_3

3) AB_2, A is element of 2nd group (alkaline earth metal) and B is element of 17th group (halogen family)

for example, MgCl_2,CaF_2
