King john of England.  This king agreed on a charter of rights of magna carta in Runnymede near Windsor. This was done in the year of 1215 on June 15. The charter was first drafted by Canterbury archbishop to function in the process of making peace between a certain unpopular king and a number of  rebel barons. The charter also promised protection of certain rights of the church,  it also promised to protect the barons from being imprisoned illegally and many others.
