1. What is Anti-Matter ?

Answer - The concept of Anti-Matter is pretty much new to us. It can be understood through the example of simple math.

Like:-

(2)² = 4

(-2)² = 4

Just like squaring of both 2 and -2 gives us the same result 4. Similarly, matter and anti-matter exist. They are literally the same thing still opposite of each other at the same time.

2. Where is all the anti-matter ?

Answer - According to the theories during the phenomenon of Big Band equal amount of matter and anti-matter should have formed. But, in today's world we can observe only matter. The anti-matter must have been consumed due to an unbalance created due to some other phenomenon.

Anti-matter and matter destroy each other upon meeting releasing large amounts of energy. We can only create anti-matter in laboratories under controlled circumstances.

3. What can be their significance to us or universe ?

Answer - If we are able to know more about the concept of Anti-matter, we might even be able to trace the path back to the time of Big Bang and discover yet unknown secrets. We might be able to know about the creation of the universe and our very own existence.

Antimatter is the opposite of normal matter. More specifically, the sub-atomic particles of antimatter have properties opposite those of normal matter.

Some examples of anti matter are:-

Neutrinos,quarks,mesons,leptons,tau,mau, positron etc....

In hospitals, radioactive molecules that emit antimatter particles are used for imaging in the technique known as positron emission tomography.

or,in free spaces of universe they are created and destroyed in every micro second...

Antimatter is produced in many experiments at CERN. In collisions at the Large Hadron Collider the antiparticles that are produced cannot be trapped because of their very high energy - they annihilate harmlessly in the detectors.

Antimatter is used in medicine. PET (positron emission tomography) uses positrons to produce high-resolution images of the body.
