Based on your opinion, what is important to your life???
Answers
Explanation:
There is no single most important thing in my life as life needs delicate balancing between several competing things in life.
I often compare life like passing an examination with multiple subjects. For example, if you are writing your CBSE 12th Board examination in India, you have five subjects say Hindi, English, Maths,Physics and Chemistry. Imagine that you score 100% marks in three papers but fail in one paper because you scored only 20% marks. You will still be declared as failure and you have to repeat the class.
In the same way, if you make one thing most important in your life and stop caring for everything else, you fail irrespective of how the world perceive you a success in that one domain. We must focus on all the aspects of life to enjoy happiness and fulfillment.
Here is the list of the FIVE most important things of my life.
1: Family &Friends
My top priority of life is my family. My nuclear family includes my wife and my two daughters. They are very dear to me and I ensure that I am always available for them. I have never missed a single parent-teacher meeting when my daughters were in schools and I always dropped them to schools and picked them up, if I am at home. I taught them maths and physics almost daily till the class XII. I spend regular time with my wife daily. I keep in touch with parents and siblings regularly, meet them regularly and available when there is a need. My friends are my greatest support and they had been with me for several decades.
2: Job
I am an officer of Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise) since last 25 years. This department has given me identity and fulfilled all my needs since joining. I always try to ensure that I not only fulfill my professional responsibilities well but also exceed it by several folds. The department too has reciprocated my effort and given me all the honours it can give and the best performance appraisals. It has always accommodated my request for postings etc. on personal ground.
3: Writing
I have been writing now for over a decade. It started when I joined the PhD course in 2002, in IIITM Gwalior. I have written over 500articles and now answered almost 1000 questions on Quora besides getting published two books “Practising Spiritual Intelligence” and “The Secret Red Book of Leadership”. My next book is also in the advance stage of review and I am hoping it to be released in a few months time. Writing is a great joy for me and there is no single day when I don’t write something.
4: Reading
Reading is the food for writers. I am almost addicted to reading. I can’t describe the joy when I catch hold of a good book and read. I am always in search of good books relating to philosophy, spirituality, self-help or biography. I can read all types of books including fiction if it is good. If I have no book to read, I feel great emptiness in my life.
5: Fitness
I am an early riser and a daily walker. Though I don’t get time to go to Gym or do workout or yoga at home, I at least ensure 40-50 minutes of walking 6-7 days in a week. I have maintained my body weight since last 25years by following healthy food habits. No alcohol, no meat and hardly any fast food in my diet. I relish homes-made food prepared by my wife which I take it seven days in a week. Dining out is only for special occasion like birthdays, marriage anniversary or to celebrate some special events.
