Linnaeus classified the living organisms into classes by the reproductive organs. They are classified into classes based on the genus and species.

This is binomial nomenclature. This classification allows us to recognize /identify animals and organisms easily and conveniently.

It provides information needed for all the branches of biology.

By studying anyone organisam of a group we are able to tell some characteristic about the other organisms in that group.
