hi friend
here's your answer looking for
before knowing about the basis of classification, let's first understand what is classification?
so,
Classification:- Arranging the living organisms into the various groups on the basis of the differences and similarities in them, this process is called as classification.
so from the above definition we came to know that the basis of classification will be on the differences and similarities in the living organisms.
now let's discuss what is the basis of classification?
Basis of classification:- as all the living organisms are diverse from each other, so, these must have some unique and special qualities in them.
and these qualities are nothing but the characteristic of the particular living organism.
so there are following basis of classification:-
1). nature of the cell or type of the cell. means whether it is a prokaryotic or Eukaryotic.
2). number of the cell that is present in a particular living organisms. Means whether it is a unicellular or multicellular.
3). mode of nutrition in that living organisms. Means whether it is autotrophic , absorptive or heterotrophic.
on this above basis of classification the living organisms are classified into kingdoms ,phylums ,divisions, class ,etc.
