Answer:

Step-by-step explanationfirst step: given side of the square is 7cm

we can find the area of square which will be a^2 = 7^2=49cm^2 equation 1

second step; given in diagram there are two semicircle  whose diameter is 7 cm and radius will be 7/2= 3.5 cm

we can see that two semicircle are indentical so are of semicircle will be

\pir^2/2

\pi=3.14

so, 3.14 *3.5*3.5/2

19.2325cm^2 which is area of one semicircle

area of two semicirclle will be 2*19.2325=38.465 equation 2

subtract equation 2 with equation 1

49-38.465= 10.535cm^2

Solution

Given :-

  • Side of Square = 7 cm
  • Two half circle , whose raddi is = 3.5 cm

Find :-

  • Area of shaded portion

Explanation

Formula

\dag\boxed{\underline{\tt{\red{\:Area_{square}\:=\:(side)^2}}}}

\dag\boxed{\underline{\tt{\orange{\:Area_{Circle}\:=\:\pi\:r^2}}}}

So, First Calculate Area of square,

==> Area of square = 7²

==> Area of square = 49 cm²

Now, Calculate area of circle

==> Area of circle = 22/7 × 3.5²

==> Area of circle = 22 × 0.5 × 3.5

==> Area of circle = 11 × 3.5

==> Area of cir circle = 38.5 cm²

Area of shaded portion,

==> Area of shaded portion = Area of square - Area of circle

==> Area of shaded portion = 49 - 38.5

==> Area of shaded portion = 10.5 cm

Hence

  • Area of shaded portion will be = 10.5 cm
