Bats can fly, but still, they are placed in mammals.

  • The reason for this is that not all the organisms who fly are oviparous.
  • Though bats can fly, they are viviparous in nature.
  • They do not lay eggs and their live young ones develop inside body of parent.
  • They also possess mammary glands for feeding their young ones.
  • Hence, even though bats can fly, they are placed under fraternity of mammals.
