Battle of plassey:

- During this period the East India company built the fortress around the trade centre in Kolkata on the pretext of security reasons without the permission of Nawab..
- But Siraj-ud-daulah destroyed the fortress.Due to this news a small army of company lead by Robert Clive reached Bengal from Chennai..
- Robert Clive felt that it was not easy to defeat Nawab's army so he resorted to treachery. Thus,a conspiracy was planned in order to defeat the Nawab..
- He included commander-in-chief Mir Jafar and Seth Amichand in it.On the pretext the Nawab is unnecessary harassing the company people declared a war in the ground near the village named plassey..
- According to plan,Mir Jafar lost the battle.Siraj-ud-Daulah was defeated..Due to Robert Clive's treachery..The battle of plassey ended in just half a day.
- Due to Battle of plassey, company got free hold free over 24 parganes..
