The bay of Bengal is a huge water body (sea) which is not in any state as such. It is situated on the Eastern coast of India. It starts from the southern fringes of West Bengal and Bangladesh and proceeds along the Eastern costal areas of India comprising of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar islands. Ganga and Brahmaputra and other peninsular rivers like Mahanadi, Krishna, Kaveri etc merges into Bay of Bengal. The Sundarbans are situated at the mouth of this sea.
