The force which opposes the motion of one body over another body in contact with it is called the 'force of friction'.
The factors affecting the force of friction are -
1. Rough surfaces
Ex. If you roll a ball on a carpet it will move around slowly.
2. Smooth surfaces
Ex. If you roll a ball on a smooth surface, it will roll on it very fast.
3. Lubrication
Ex. By lubricating a substance the surface becomes smooth and thus friction reduces. Like in a machinery.
4. Polishing
Ex. By polishing a surface, friction on it reduces. Like a new cardboard is highly polished for a smooth game.
6. By making bodies spherical
Ex. Wheels help in moving fast because spherical bodies reduce friction.
Hope this helps :-)
