kinetic energy is needed to overcome the force of attraction between particles of tye same substance.in solids particles dont have enough kinetic energy to overcome the force of attraction between them.the particles are packed closely together and cannot move arround.

Devipvu2004: why is the kinetic energy of liquids is more than solids???
Devipvu2004: is it due to intermolecular spaces or due to the decrease in force of attraction
Devipvu2004: or both
Devipvu2004: plzz reply
poonammokhapb1hds: yes its both
poonammokhapb1hds: yes its both
poonammokhapb1hds: intermolecular spaces is more..and force of attraction is less
Devipvu2004: Its both right????
Devipvu2004: R u sure?
poonammokhapb1hds: hmm
