Plants possess certain types of tissues which undergo cell division and thus increase in number throughout the life till the plant dies.
Such tissues are called meristematic tissues.
That's why it is said plants grow throughout their life.
They are located at places from where new plant part arises like region from where leaf arises and at tips of roots and shoot
