Chemical Bonds

The bonds that are formed by the physical attraction of one atom with another in order to form a stable compound is termed as chemical bonds.

The chemical bond can be either ,

  • Ionic
  • Coordinate
  • Covalent

Why do atoms form bond ?

The urge to get stability is the main reason behind forming the bonds.

Every atom in this universe born to complete its state or duplicate and become chemically stable acquiring less energy.

That's the main reason behind why always at stability and forms a bond.

Some examples

  • O2 forms a covalent bond.
  • NaCl is the best example for ionic bond where chlorine accepts a pair of electron while sodium donates electron here sodium acts as a cation and chlorine acts as an anion. So here polarity develops between chlorine as well as sodium molecule.

Modes of bond formation

  • Either by sharing the pair of electron.
  • Or by accepting or donating the pair of electron.

Whatever suits and atom the most that way it will adopt and will form a chemical bond in order to attain stability and complete its Octet
