let father's present age=x yrs
son's present age=y yrs
x-6=5(y-6)
5y-x=24...(1)
x+4=3(y+4)
3y-x=-8...(2)
from eq 1 & 2
2y=32
y=16 yrs
x=56 yrs
x+t=2(y+t)
56+t=2(16+t)
t=24 yrs
After 24 years father's age will be twice that of the son
