History, asked by mahesh030502, 1 year ago

Before independence Pakistan was a part of India. After bifurcation, Pakistan celebrated independence on August 14th 1947 whereas India celebrated its independence on August 15th 1947. My question is why the both countries had celebrated their independence day on different dates as both countries one and same before independence.

Lord Mountbatten(Last Viceroy of British India) announced freedom of Pakistan and gave its responsibility to MA Jinnah(first Governor-General of Pakistan) and after that day he celebrated Independence of India and took its responsibility under his ownership as he was first governor-general of independent India.--No major concept after that.
