Robert Frost's poem

The Mending Wall is filled with symbols which help the readers to understand the theme of the poem which is that not all the self-imposed barriers lead to alienation.

The narrator says that the fence is not of any use and unnecessarily does not allow for any sort of  interaction but the neighbor however is keen on mending the wall and says "good fences make good neighbors"
