Answer:

Given:

Before last year, when the number of students of a school was increased by 25%, it became 500.

Last year, it again increased by 20%.

Solution:

Let the original number of students before last year be x

Therefore, ATQ.

(25% of x) + x = 500

=⟩ x/4 + x = 500

=⟩ 5x/4 = 500

=⟩ 5x = 500 × 4

= 2000

=⟩ x = 2000 ÷ 5

= 400

Hence, original number of student before inrement was 400.

Now,

Last year, the number was again increased by 20%.

So, (20% of 500) + 500

i.e., 600.

Therefore, overall increment in two years

= 600 - 400

= 200 (Ans)
