Before the revolt of 1857 the British spoke of a time when the Indian would rule themselves. After the revolt they said that Indians are unfit to rule.what made them change their mind after the revolt?? Pls tell urgently.

British changed their voice after the revolt.

They said they would give power of ruling ourselves and they return back to their homeland but it wasn't done by giving a conclusion that we can't rule ourselves.

As we know that , there were some symptoms of world war 1 in 19th century.

In this situation , any colony must not go back to homeland and leave colonial places

They need raw materials , humans for war , support etc.

So , they at last they were unwilling to leave india and then they gave a reason that we can't rule ourselves.
