Answer:

On a cold, windy, gloomy day, Jo wants to go outside. Meg asked Jo why she was going and Jo replied with a short answer of exercising. While Meg goes back to h er book, “Ivanhoe” she goes outside and starts shoveling the snow. She also looks over the fence and sees Laurie’s house. Jo throws a snowball at Laurie’s house and gets his attention. Jo thought that he was stuck in the house from any sign of entertainment. He was sick and was super bored. LAurie and Jo both thought that some company would be nice. Jo had an idea of going and keeping him amused by telling stories and reading books. While Jo goes and asks to amuse him, Laurie cleans a bit of his room.

She goes and asks Marmee if she can go over and Marme agrees. Jo heads over with some love and kisses from Marmee, a desert called blancmange from Meg, and some of Beth’s kittens. This made Laurie feel better and not be as lonely anymore. Jo wanted to read to Laurie but instead he just wanted to talk. Laurie was watching the Marches for a while seeing all the fun they had. He wished he could do that if Grandfather would let him. Jo invites him over so they can play if his grandfather would let him. They talk about the job she has assisting a cranky old lady. She says a story of the spoiled pet parrot the old lady has. Then, they start talking about books. Jo even tells him abut the library the lady has, so whenever she goes and takes a nap, Jo goes and read a book in the easy chair. Laurie suggests that they should go to his grandfather’s library since they were so fascinated by books.

They go to the library and Jo explores. They also hear a bell meaning that Laurie’s grandfather is here. Laurie’s grandfather has also bought the doctor. A maid comes in and says that the doctor is here. Laurie goes to the doctor while Jo stays in the library. While she was in there, someone opens the door. She finds a portrait of his grandfather and start criticizing him out loud. She thinks he has a strong personality but a kind nature. She thought that his grandfather was much better than Laurie’s grandfather though. Jo thinking that it is Laurie says that she is no longer scared of Grandfather. Instead it was grandfather. She was blushed and embarrassed that she had said that out loud. They meet and become fast friends. They drank some tea and Laurie showed Jo the conservatory they have in the house. She leaves the house after a while of meeting Grandfather and saying goodbye to Laurie. She tells the sisters what happened at the house and Marmee suggests that they should go over sometime. Meg says that she liked Laurie’s manners. Beth compares the house to an old game they played called Playing Pilgrims. Although the mansion looked beautiful and welcoming, it was surrounded by angry lions also known as Grandfather.
