not being a part of the mass slaughter of aprox. 150.000.000 (very low estimate) land animals every day;
greatly improving the range and variability of foods you eat. You’ll be required to taste much more stuff than before, and eat more greens, raw foods, etc. Of course, this is not mandatory, and you can still eat a lot of junk while being veg, but it is certainly not the rule. You’ll go to more veg restarurants and are bound to taste a lot of different stuff you would never otherwise.
not contribute to the deforestation of the Amazon forest (which is continually, and mostly illegaly, tear down in order to grow soybeans and make room for livestock pastures)
stop contributing to one of the most vile and cruel industries there is: factory farming.
health benefits totally depends on you. It is basically not right to say that if you go veg, your health will improve automatically. It won’t. You need to eat properly (a good balance of proteins, fats and carbs, not too much) and get enough exercise to get a good health, regardless of your chosen diet. Stop eating meat alone won’t cut it. But as I said above, if you really dig into veg stuff and open yourslef to new flavors and foods (raw stuff, whole grains, legumes, leaves, etc) - this will definetly be a boost to your health.
be at peace with yourself. If you do decide to go veg because you feel eating meat is wrong for any reason (animal rights, environment, religion, etc), than not eating meat will align your beliefs with your behaviour. There won’t be any guilt involved and you’ll be doing yourself and the planet a good favor. But don’y have to go veg for whatever reason. If it is forced, it sucks for you and everyone around you.
Hope that helped.

Vegetarians often feel refreshed and more energized than people who eat meat
Vegetarians also live about three to six years longer than meat eaters.
Eating too much meat can lead to excess protein in the human body and having too much protein can take calcium from the bones in bodies and become the cause of bone disorders.
