Yes, I believe in this statement. "Madam Rides the Bus" proves that this statement is correct in the following way:

Explanation:

  • The central character of “Madam Rides the Bus” is an eight-year-old girl, Valli who lives near a bus stop in a village.

  • Valli acquires a desire to experience a ride on the bus. For this reason, she reduced her expenses so that she can save sufficient money for the two-way fair.

  • While on her journey, Valli doesn’t require anybody’s help and wants to feel independent. She enjoys every moment of her journey to the town.

  • But she is careful enough not to get off the bus in unknown places. On her return journey, a sad accident ruins her mood but she just keeps it to herself.

  • She wants to travel more and wishes to go for another ride in the future.

  • All this could happen because Valli had confidence in herself. She believed that she could make the journey alone and hence she did. It was because of her humble and reasonable confidence that she took a successful journey.
