b.The extent of researcher interference.
c. The study setting.
d. The research strategy.

Scenario
specific department within an organization has a high turnover rate; employees of this department have a shorter average tenure than those of other departments in the company.Skilled workers are leaving and the worker population contains a high percentage of novice workers. Answer:

a): The major objective of exploratory research design is to discover ideas and insights where as in descriptive research design involves describing market aspects and functions. Nevertheless, causal research design tries to determine the cause-effect relationships in the research one is conducting.

b): EXTENT OF RESEARCHER INTERFERENCE The extent of interference by the researcher with the normal flow of work at the workplace has a direct bearing on whether the study undertaken is causal or correlational. ... Because of this she wants to create an artificial environment and trace the true cause and effect relationship.

c): The research setting can be seen as the physical, social, and cultural site in which the researcher conducts the study. ... In such studies, the influence of cultural behavior in the understanding of a phenomenon gets recognized and, therefore, is central in defining the setting.

d): A research strategy is an overall plan for conducting a research study. A research strategy guides a researcher in planning, executing, and monitoring the study.

e): Time horizons. This layer defines the time frame for the research – cross-sectional or short term study, involving collection of data at a specific point of time; longitudinal – collection of data repeatedly over a long period of time in order to compare data. ... The research onion, proposed by Saunders et al.

f): The Unit of Analysis is the entity that frames what is being analyzed in a study, or is the entity being studied as a whole, within which most factors of causality and change exist. The unit of analysis should not be confused with the unit of observation. The unit of observation is a subset of the unit of analysis.
