∴−4×v=−4

⇒v=1 is the multiplicative identity

(b) Given x×w=w∵x

=1

Therefore, x×w=w only possible when w=0

that is x×0=0, x

=1

So, w=0

(c) Given, u+x=w

putting u=−4 and w=0

∴−4+x=0

⇒x=4( transposing −4 to Right hand side )

So, v=1,x=4,w=0
