We can solved this question by two methods.

Method1:

Let us factorize 1122

1122=2×3×11×17

The two pages must be consecutive numbers. We need to divide

to combine these four integers into 2 numbers which are consecutive

3×11=33

2×17=34

Hence the pages were 33 and 34

Method2:

Let the page numbers be x and x + 1

x(x+1)=1122

⟹x2+x−1122=0

x=−1±1+4488√2

⟹x=−1±4489√2

⟹x=−1±672

⟹x=−34and33

negative result - 34 can be neglected for page number. Hence x = 33

Hence the pages were 33 and 33 + 1 = 34
