As you are interested to do Polytechnic course after 10th so I want to tell you that Diploma course is far better than 12th class. As you want to go for Polytechnic course which means you want to pursue diploma in engineering. The duration of Polytechnic course is 3 years. There are various advantages of choosing polytechnic course over 12th class. 

But one important thing is that you should take admission in only top polytechnic colleges otherwise there will be no use of doing polytechnic course. In order to get admission in top college you have to appear in entrance exams conducted by various colleges. After completing polytechnic course you can directly get admission in second year of B.Tech. There is no need of studying first year of B.tech. So, in this way your time will not be wasted.
