Answer:

Positive discipline is when you acknowledge and appreciate good behavior in children. Positive disciplining is always better than reprimanding, using penalties or grounding children. The positive discipline process encourages children to repeat the good behavior they displayed. Incentivizing children to continue to be good is also a good example of positive discipline techniques.

Incentivizing children is not equivalent to bribing them though. It simply means encouraging good behavior by attaching an incentive to it. For example, you could encourage your child to help you out in the kitchen by saying they may get an increase in their pocket money or by saying that if they are good and continue to help out, then the family will go out for a dinner to their favorite restaurant.

Positive discipline leaves good childhood memories with children as they grow, rather than the negative connotations or psychological damage that can be left on children’s minds if they are reprimanded harshly, especially in the case of corporal punishment.

Another example of positive discipline is when you simply appreciate a child for their good behavior. For example, if your child has made their bed every day for a whole week without your having to tell them to do so; then simply appreciating your child’s efforts counts as positive discipline. Simply appreciating your child, tell them that you notice their efforts towards being neat as well as being helpful towards you by reducing the workload. Children are more likely to repeat behavior that they have been appreciated for as opposed to avoiding behavior that they have been reprimanded for.

Often, when children are disciplined or scolded for their behavior in a negative way, they tend to repeat the behavior out of sheer insolence. It becomes a matter of their pride or ego. For some children, the forbidden fruit always tastes the sweetest. Therefore, using positive discipline techniques is always a better idea. For example, if your child uses foul language, then instead of scolding them, if you tell your child that you will reward them if you do not hear them saying any bad words for a whole month; you are likely to yield better results.

Another benefit of positive discipline is that it keeps the home atmosphere pleasant. Disciplining kids often leads to the home atmosphere becoming tense or upsetting, but not if you are more used to practicing positive discipline.

At the same time, this does not mean that using other methods of disciplining is totally unacceptable. Sometimes, it is necessary to mete out a punishment or penalty so as to impress upon the child the seriousness of the matter. For example, if a child has been caught lying or stealing, it is important to make the child realize that such behavior is not going to be ignored, and under such circumstances, grounding the child for an extensive period of time could be a good idea.

If you are looking for the right daycare center where your child will be in safe hands and will be taught good values then “Children Brings Wealth” is the place for you.
