Answer:

Benzoic acid to m- Nitrobenzyl alcohol. Answer : When benzoic acid reacted with nitrating mixture it forms m- nitrobenzoic acid further it treated with SOCl2 it chlorinate the acidic COOH group. And reacting with NaBH4 further it get converted into m-nitroenzyl alcohol.
