benzyl chloride is more reactive than chlorobenzene towards nucleophilic substitution reaction. explain.

In chlorobenzene due to resonance the partail bond formed which requires large amount of energy to break.

Whereas in benzyl chloride due the conjunction between positive charge and double bond resonance is possible hence it is more reactive.

Note:- Stability is directly proportional to reactivity.
