Bertie and Tessa were having a discussion about the continents during science class.

Bertie claims that the continents must have formed into their current places. The shapes of the continents are because of weathering and erosion over a very long time.
Tessa says that the continents split apart and moved over a long period of time.
They have yet to come to an agreement.
Who is right and why?
