Beryllium (Z = 4) has no unpaired electron in its ground state. However, in all its compounds beryllium
shows divalency. Explain.​

Beryllium is 4 th element so it's atomic number is 4 and it's electronic configuration is 1s2 2s2

Now beryllium has a vaccant p orbital so in the exited state this two electrons of 2 s orbital will be exited ok now that does not mean the both 2 electrons jump 1 between them jump to p orbital.

so now it has two unpaired electrons so it forms two bonds
