the distance covered will be measured as the area of the shape in the graph

now look carefully you will find a rectangle and a trapezium and a right angled triangle. ( up trapezium down rectangle and a right angled triangle beside it)

area of rectangle:

( l×b)

10×3=30

area of trapezium:

( a+b/2h)

substituting we get 15

area of triangle:

1/2bh

b=1 h=20

substituting we get 10

AND FINALLY...

add them!

30+15+10=55
